A first for a French company as Oodrive scoops Restricted Distribution (RD) certification for its SecNumCloud service

Oodrive, the European leader in sensitive content management, announces that its system complies with the provisions of II 901 (French Inter-ministerial Instruction No. 901) for processing data for Restricted Distribution

27 October 2021 – Oodrive, the European leader in sensitive content management, announces that its system complies with the provisions of II 901 (French Inter-ministerial Instruction No. 901) for processing data for Restricted Distribution. Until now, no solution on the market provided this specific Cloud service, which led to the development of internal systems and encrypted files qualified by the ANSSI (French National Agency for Information Systems Security).

Oodrive already deploys a foolproof security collaboration platform for sensitive data management. This is reflected in its SecNumCloud qualification issued by the ANSSI in 2019, and to this day, Oodrive remains the only SaaS publisher to have obtained this certification.

As such, Oodrive continues to lead by example in its mission to secure sensitive data. After obtaining the very first SecNumCloud qualification, Oodrive has been awarded the first Restricted Distribution certification for an information system incorporating a SecNumCloud-qualified service.

The Oodrive approach

Partnering up with major players in defense, energy and finance, Oodrive has been able to focus its efforts on a specific sensitive data category, namely “Restricted Distribution.” Due to the exacting nature of the regulations which apply to the management of these strategic resources, to date, Oodrive’s Cloud service is the only solution formally certified to execute such tasks. Extensive background work began in 2020, which now provides further assurances on the critical security guarantee represented by the SecNumCloud qualification.

A year on from a theoretical presentation given at the 2020 Les Assises cybersecurity conference, the 2021 Les Assises conference saw Oodrive CISO and DPO, François-Xavier Vincent, officially unveil the practical results of the Group’s certification approach. With a focus on delivering rigorous and objective certification results, Oodrive leveraged the expertise of Advens, a recognized French pure player in cybersecurity.

François-Xavier Vincent, Oodrive CISO and DPO, commented: “Going forward, our ambition is to provide our customers with a ‘turnkey’ certifiable SecNumCloud solution.” “Incidentally, the latest version of the SecNumCloud standard, published by the ANSSI on 15 October now explicitly provides for this type of certification.” This adds yet another strength to Oodrive’s pioneering approach.
